If you have completed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized polytechnic college and want to do BTech — you do not have to start from 1st year again. BCECE LE gives you direct admission into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of BTech in engineering colleges of Bihar.
BCECE LE stands for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination — Lateral Entry. It is conducted every year by BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board), Patna. Through this exam, diploma holders can directly enter the 2nd year of BTech — saving one full year of college.

After the result is declared, BCECEB conducts online counselling for seat allotment. Here is exactly how the counselling works:
After result, go to bcece.admissions.nic.in and register for counselling with your rank card, documents, and counselling fee payment. Counselling registration is separate from exam registration.
You will be asked to fill your preferred colleges and branches in order of priority. Fill as many options as possible — at least 15–20 choices. Put your most desired college and branch at the top.
Based on your rank, category, and preferences, a seat is allotted. You will receive an allotment letter online. You must report to the allotted college within the reporting deadline or the seat is cancelled.
